DIGITAL ART : THE ORIGINAL

“The digital images you  are seeing in the many galleries of my work online, showcase a fraction of the images intended detail. I adore the intricacies of detail, the flakes of rust , the texture of bark. I create the majority of my work at 30 x40 inch, digitally, or at least the end result is digital.  So by reducing an image from lets say 9000 x 12000 pixels to web resolution of 900 x 1200 pixels. You can imagine the sheer loss of imagery. Which brings me to the original art. The biggest dilemma for an artist when deciding to create digital is ‘what about the original’ . I believe I have found a solution.

I spent many months researching, testing print qualities. Different print types, papers, canvasses , gloss, lustre the whole works and have settled on what I believe to be the finest quality print . They represent how the image should be displayed, size, pixel ratio, quality, detail. Prints in Giclee Ultra chrome canvass , 30 x 40 inch prints.

These are to be the Original art. A new turning point for me in how I approach my work. I create works as one off editions for this medium. Glossy poster prints will also be available ,as with any fine artists work. But these Ultra chrome Canvass’s will remain as the artist original work., not to printed again.”
